Oh, nature

It felt like one of those days. It wasn't raining when I left home but it still felt wet. The drive was a depressing drizzle with the odd lake to cross courtesy of the construction crew. I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew it wasn't going to be good.

Storms. They're back. The latest one hit last Monday, the end of the long weekend. The place was packed and I was running everywhere to keep up with (and hide from) the miserable campers. In the end I closed the place and told everyone to run. Before it was over one small tree came down on the road (no injuries) and another small tree and branches fell on one RV. It punctured a hole in their roof maybe 10cm. They were pissed. The RV remains.

The clean up was nothing like last year but significant. Unlike last year, my boss is back to help. The last three days have been full of stinky power tools and ear protection. I'm tired. My back hurts. But we got it done. We opened the park in three days.

It was a rewarding feeling. The hard work paid off.

Now the flood gates are open. Here come the campers.

Giddy up.
